Kendra Falby

University of Florida '25

Hometown: Odessa, Florida

Playing for Project H.O.O.D. (Helping Others Obtain Destiny)

Personal: Falby is the daughter of Kent and Jennifer Falby. She has a pet fish named Peaches. She models her game after former Florida standout Kelsey Stewart-Hunter and cites University of Florida assistant softball coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro as someone who has made a significant impact on her life. One of her idols is Michael Jordan, whom she admires for his ability to self-motivate. Growing up, Falby also competed in basketball and track and field. She considers winning back-to-back Rawlings Gold Glove Awards to be her proudest accomplishment. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, being at the lake, and playing dodgeball.

International Experience: Falby was a member of the Canadian U-19 Women’s National Team that earned the bronze medal at the 2019 WBSC Junior World Cup. Over the course of 10 games, she ranked second on the team with a .464 batting average. She recorded 13 hits, including two doubles, and scored nine runs. Falby also led the team in walks (six) and stolen bases (13). In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was named the 2019 Canadian Junior Athlete of the Year.

College Experience: Falby was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Florida, where she started all 261 career games from 2022 to 2025. She compiled an impressive .393 batting average during her time with the Gators and ranks second in program history with 337 career hits. Her offensive production included 37 doubles, 11 triples, and seven home runs. Falby drove in 109 runs and scored a school-record 259 runs. She also ranks second in Florida’s career record books with 118 stolen bases.

Falby was one of only three players in program history to earn back-to-back Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, which she received as a junior and senior. As a senior, she was a consensus All-America selection by the NFCA, D1Softball, and Softball America. She was named to the Softball America and D1Softball All-America First Teams and earned Second-Team honors from the NFCA. In 2025, she was recognized as the Softball America Defender of the Year.

A four-time NFCA All-Region honoree, Falby earned First-Team All-Gulf Region honors as a senior and was named to the NFCA All-Southeast Region First Team as a freshman. She was also a three-time All-Southeastern Conference selection, receiving First-Team accolades as both a junior and senior. Falby led the Gators in hits during all four seasons and topped the team in batting average three times.

In 2025, Falby was one of only four Florida players to start all 65 games. She led the team with a .423 batting average and ranked seventh in NCAA Division I with 90 hits, including nine doubles, two triples, and two home runs. She also scored 71 runs, which ranked eighth nationally, and led the SEC with 35 hits in conference play. Her 36 stolen bases in 40 attempts ranked second in the SEC. She led the Gators with 25 multi-hit games and reached base in 62 of 65 games, including at least one hit in 57 contests. Notably, she reached base safely in the first 48 games of the season.

As a junior, Falby batted .361 and ranked third in NCAA Division I with 87 hits. She contributed 16 doubles, four triples, two home runs, and 25 RBIs while starting all 69 games. She also led the team with 27 multi-hit games. On May 1, 2024, she went 5-for-6 with four RBIs and hit the game-winning solo home run against Florida State.

During her sophomore season, Falby led the Gators with a .403 batting average and 75 hits while starting all 59 games. She recorded a career-high four hits and tied the Florida single-game record with four runs scored against Mercer on March 10, 2023. She also tied the program's single-game record with two triples against Kentucky on May 6, 2023. That year, she led the team with 18 multi-hit games.

As a freshman, Falby led the SEC and ranked third nationally with 85 hits. She also stole 36 bases, which ranked second in the conference. One of the highlights of her freshman season was an inside-the-park home run against Mississippi State on March 14, 2022. Her exceptional debut season earned her a spot as a Top 25 Finalist for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year award.

a pretty good week for the Talons if you ask us 💅🏆

@sephora surprised all of the AUSL athletes with gift bags in their lockers during the final week of the regular season. after the surprise, the Talons went on to win the first-ever AUSL Championship presented by Sephora 🍾
while there are a lot of similarities between baseball and softball, there are some big differences too ⚾️🥎

(should our coaches start suiting up for games too?)
